Teaching College Structure

The Teaching College comprises of six segments, each with a leadership team of academic and PS colleagues. The six segments are Curriculum Development and Delivery, Digital and Flexible, Recruitment and Intake, Student Experience and Graduate Outcomes, Teaching Academy, and Teaching Excellence Framework. Each segment has recently developed five-year strategic plans, and the teams will be engaging with people from across the Faculty to deliver on their priority areas.

CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT & DELIVERY

The Curriculum Development and Delivery segment seeks to ensure that the Faculty’s taught programmes portfolio is the best it can be by meeting contemporary societal needs, delivering sector-leading academic standards, and meeting student expectations.

DIGITAL & FLEXIBLE

The Digital and Flexible Learning segment is involved in a variety of initiatives ranging from supporting the transition to the next Central Learning Environment (CLE) to creating networks for colleagues to share technical expertise and ideas. Find out more.  

RECRUITMENT AND INTAKE

The Recruitment and Intake segment supports the Faculty in attracting the very best candidates from all walks of life. But as well as recruiting the best-performing students, as a Faculty we also want to remove barriers, increase access, and widen opportunities for those from less represented backgrounds. STUDENT EXPERIENCE & GRADUATE OUTCOMES

The Student Experience and Graduate Outcomes (SEGO) segment is focused on working with colleagues and student partners to provide the best possible experience for our students. This segment leads on improving equality of opportunity for underrepresented groups to access, succeed in and progress from higher education, as well as ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed through a high-quality student experience. TEACHING ACADEMY

The Teaching Academy segment aims to create a culture of innovation and inclusivity within the teaching and learning environment by supporting our colleagues to be innovative and deliver world leading teaching. However, you can read more about the segment and its objectives here.   

TEACHING EXCELLENCE

The Teaching Excellence (TE) segment is focused on improving the student experience by embedding a framework for teaching excellence across the Faculty.  In 2023, the University was rated Silver overall, Gold for Student Outcomes, and Silver for Student Experience.
